Almost exclusively found in the mysterious Elven Territory, elves (kajin) reside at the eastern edge of the southern hemisphere’s continent of Elamdinn. Beginning a few hundred years ago, small groups of elves have migrated to the Strait A’s, away from the isolation of the Territory. Elves are generally regarded as mysterious folk, especially those from the Territory. Elven expatriates and their descendants in other lands have been stereotyped to be secretive and proficient in the arcane arts. Half-elves (hanka) are exclusively found in human areas, as they would be turned away from the Territory should they try to enter. Half-elves are relatively numerous compared to pure elves, and the term “half-elf” generally encompasses people of at least 1/8th elf blood. This seems to be the threshold at which elf features are retained, and people of 1/8th elven blood show no anatomical or physiological differences to those of truly half-blooded elves.
